Reduced visibility to 1/2 mile or less at times due to heavy snow and blowing snow. * WHERE...Whittier. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility under a one half mile at times, with moments of near whiteout conditions possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong offshore winds gusting to 40 mph combined with heavy snow will result in poor visibility. Winds will weaken and turn onshore later this evening and overnight. Temperatures will gradually increase and may allow snow to become rain.
