Fluctuating river levels throughout the day (Saturday 28/06/2025) may lead to flooding. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible but property flooding is not expected. Areas most at risk include the Rivers Brathay and Rothay, and low lying areas around Grasmere and Ambleside. Further rainfall is forecast today potentially bringing heavy downpours to the area. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 5:00 PM on 28/06/2025, or as the situation changes.
