...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING... A dry air mass moves into the area behind a departing cold front on Sunday. With warm temperatures remaining in place, relative humidity values will drop into the 20 to 25 percent range across the North Carolina foothills and Piedmont. Northwest wind gusts to around 25 mph will continue into the afternoon as well. The combination of low relative humidity and gusty winds will lead to Increased Fire Danger across these areas.
