Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS parts of Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 4:49 am Wednesday, 2 July 2025. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are likely to develop about the Main Range, Granite Belt, Scenic Rim and adjacent eastwards slopes today. Subject to the position and strength of the low pressure system, DAMAGING WINDS may persist for parts of southeast Queensland until Thursday morning. Locations which may be affected include Stanthorpe, Springbrook and Crows Nest. Emergency services advise people to: * Park your car undercover away from trees. * Close doors and windows. * Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks. * Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out. * Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost. * Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous. * Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area. * Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed. The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 am AEST Wednesday.
