Coastal flooding is possible due to forecast high tides, strong winds and large waves tomorrow morning. Flooding is possible around the high tide between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM on 21/09/2025. Areas most at risk include beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads around Hendon, Seaburn and Seaham Harbour Docks. Coastal conditions are expected to improve throughout the day so the risk of further flooding will reduce. We are closely monitoring the situation. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We will remove this message by 10:00 AM on 21/09/2025.
