River levels have peaked but remain high which may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible today, Sunday 16th November 2025, and for the next few days. This is in response to recent rainfall associated with Storm Claudia. No further significant rain is expected in the next few days and levels are expected to continue falling slowly. Locations most affected will be riverside footpaths and low-lying land in York and to the south as far as Naburn Lock, including Kings Staith, Queens Staith, and South Esplanade. We are closely monitoring the situation and operating the Foss Barrier in York. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 08:00AM on 17th November 2025 or as the situation changes.
