...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM AKST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. * WHERE...Prince of Wales Island, Ketchikan Gateway Borough and Annette Island. * WHEN...Until 3 PM AKST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow has started across the area with Ketchikan reporting about 2 to 3 inches by early Saturday morning. Final snow totals will be highly dependent on how quickly the cold air is eroded away by the incoming warm air. The 'warmest' case scenario would allow the rain to mix in Saturday morning, which would cut snowfall totals in half. The 'coldest' case scenario would keep snow as the dominate precip- type lasting into Saturday evening. If this plays out, snowfall amounts would be doubled. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of winter weather.
