...Light Snow This Weekend... Snow showers have begun across the central and eastern Interior. Circle Hot Springs reported a quick 2.4 inches through 9am Friday morning, and 3.0 inches was reported at Chicken. Heavier snow bands embedded within this system will lead to widely varying snow totals across the region. Snow will taper off Saturday night and Sunday. South of the Chatanika River, expect around 2 to 4 inches of snow, including in Fairbanks. In Fairbanks, there is a 30% chance for 4-6+ inches as the heaviest is only about 30 miles northeast. This would only be possible if the localized heavier banding moves overhead, which is possible. The heaviest snow near Fairbanks will be in the hills off of Chena Hot Springs Road where 4 to 7 inches are expected. Expect 3 to 6 inches in the White Mountains National Recreation Area and heavier amounts up to 12 inches north and east of Eagle Summit. From Manley Hot Springs to Bettles, expect 1 to 3 inches with lesser amounts to the west. From Nenana to Denali Park and Cantwell, expect 2 to 3 inches. Expect 1 to 3 inches around Delta Junction, but up to 8 inches along the Richardson Highway near Trims Camp.
