Water levels will likely be similar to or slightly higher than the October 8th storm. * WHERE...Shishmaref. * WHEN...From 7 AM Sunday to 4 AM AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...At Shishmaref, the airstrip will likely be closed, the sanitation road may washout, water will inundate many buildings on the inlet side of town including the clinic, library, and water treatment plant. Wave run-up from the coast will inundate buildings near the sewage lagoon. Significant shoreline erosion will occur. At Diomede, large waves and wave runup will cause erosion and may wash items away.
