Cleveland: Snow to Create Slick Travel

By By Kristina Pydynowski, senior meteorologist
    February 09, 2014, 11:17:57 PM EST

Even in the absence of a major winter storm, accumulating snow still threatens to cause problems for travelers around Cleveland to start the new week.

Following a light round of snow Saturday evening, another wave comes through Sunday. Between the two rounds, a total of 1 to 3 inches will accumulate.

Odds favor the majority of that snow occurring during the morning and early afternoon hours of Sunday.

While not a significant event, a couple inches of snow is still enough to cause slick travel. Motorists should also prepare for a period of reduced visibility.

In the wake of the snow, fresh frigid air will arrive for Monday as a couple of snow showers may fly. Temperatures will be held to the upper teens.

Another cold day will unfold on Tuesday with highs once again in the teens.

Later in the week, a Southern storm will have to be watched for possible impacts in the Northeast due to snow, ice and rain before Valentine's Day.
