UK: Showers may dampen RHS Chelsea Flower Show this week
Spectators at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show may have to contend with a passing shower on several days this week.
Much of the past week has been dry across the Greater London Area with no reported rainfall at Heathrow or Gatwick airports.
That looks to change in the coming week, as several storms will move into Western Europe from the Atlantic.
A storm system spinning over Central Europe will track northward and help to trigger a few passing showers throughout eastern England on Tuesday.
Despite the chance for a brief shower, much of the day is likely to be dry with sunny periods for the opening day of the Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) Flower Show in Chelsea.
The Duchess of Cambridge, according to the official Kensington Royal Twitter page, has been collaborating with RHS and designer Davies White for months on one of the gardens.
The reveal of The Duchess of Cambridge's garden, entitled "Back to Nature," will be on Tuesday to RHS members; however, the public can attend as early as Thursday.
All of those gathering to see the unveiling of the beautiful displays will want to be prepared for rainfall.
A period of drier weather is expected for the events on Wednesday and Thursday. A high temperature of 20-21 C (68-70 F) is expected for these days with sunny periods.
The risk of rainfall will increase on Friday and Saturday for the final two days of the show; however, even these days are not expected to be washouts with dry periods between any showers.
This could make the rain gear necessary for everyone visiting the flower show anytime during the week.
Despite the additional cloud cover that could be brought on by these showers, high temperatures of 19-20 C (66-68 F) are expected both days.
