    Tokyo Shaken by 5.6-Magnitude Quake

    A 5.6-magnitude earthquake has rocked greater Tokyo as of Tuesday evening, local time.

    There were no immediate reports of damage.

    The offshore earthquake epicenter was pinpointed 70 miles (112 km) east-southeast of Tokyo, the USGS Earthquake Hazards website said. The focal depth was pegged at 22 miles, or 35 km.

    The strongest shaking on land in eastern Japan was estimated to be light, with no expected structural damage, the USGS site indicated.
