Sports fans to enjoy the weather in London for Cricket World Cup, Wimbledon finals
Despite the absence of extreme heat, sports fans flocking to London will need to apply sun cream before heading to the finals for Wimbledon and the Cricket World Cup.
London will be abuzz with excited tennis and cricket fans as the tournaments for each sport come to a close this weekend.
The men's final at Wimbledon between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer will happen on Sunday, when the champion of the Cricket World Cup will also be crowned. England will battle New Zealand at Lord's Cricket Ground, starting at 10:30 a.m. BST (5:30 a.m. EDT).
Players and fans at all these final matches will not have to worry about dangerous heat surging back into London.
A high of 22 C (72 F) is expected on Sunday. Sunny spells are anticipated and it will feel comfortable for fans enjoying the sporting events.
However, protection is needed from the strong July sun regardless of the temperature this time of year.
"Fans in open seating areas will want to make sure to have hats, sunglasses and sun cream," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Bill Deger.
The dry weather conditions will continue on Monday and Tuesday for the London area.
