    Boston: Roller-Coaster Temperatures Through Monday

    By By Courtney Spamer, Meteorologist
    March 18, 2014, 1:23:51 AM EDT

The temperature roller-coaster ride will continue into St. Patrick's Day for the Boston area.

After the city hit a high of 57 Saturday, temperatures struggled to reach 35 F for Sunday despite mostly sunny skies.

Even colder weather is on tap for Monday with highs only reaching the mid-20s, then dipping into the teens Monday night.

"It's the typical roller-coaster ride of March," AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said. "March is notorious for huge temperature swings."

Boston's normal temperatures this time of year are highs in lower 40s during the day and a low near 30 at night.

Milder weather will slowly filter into the city heading into Midweek.

Temperatures are forecast to crack the freezing mark on Tuesday, then reach 40 by Wednesday.

The chance of rain will return with the climb in temperatures with rain in the forecast Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.
