The central United States endured an outbreak of damaging severe storms during the final full weekend of June.

Intense thunderstorms, gusty winds and hail impacted areas including parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado during the evening hours on Sunday, June 24, into the following Monday morning.

Though storms remained generally separate from one another through Sunday night, they joined to form a cluster that advanced southeastward through southern Kansas and eastern Oklahoma into early Monday.

Several thunderstorm watches and warnings remained in effect through Monday morning in areas including Oklahoma City, Norman, Moore and El Reno, Oklahoma; and southern Kansas.

Golf-ball sized hail was reported near Boise City, Oklahoma, on Sunday night. Several powerful wind gusts were also reported through the evening, including a 62-mph wind gust near Perryton, Texas.

In Cimarron, Kansas, strong winds blew a semi-trailer into a nearby building in the midst of the destructive storms.

A few funnel clouds were spotted in Montana and Nebraska, and parts of South Dakota and Minnesota were on alert during tornado warnings issued on Sunday afternoon.

Dickinson County, Iowa, was also under a Flash Flood Emergency on Sunday following multiple reports of stalled or submerged vehicles in the Iowa and Great Lakes area.

Additional storms will spread further damaging winds and possible flooding into the South-Central and Midwestern states early this week.
