As heat ramps up over the weekend, thunderstorms will also roll into Minneapolis this weekend and into next week.

While temperatures on Saturday approached normals for this time of year, strong thunderstorms disrupted afternoon plans.

Although storms will leave the area by Sunday morning, allowing for a breezy, humid and sunny morning but they will return again for the afternoon and evening.

Overnight lows will hover in the mid-70s each night into next week.

Temperatures will soar to start the week, reaching the mid-90s by Monday afternoon, making it the hottest day of the week.
