Icy Conditions Possible Friday Night, Saturday

    By By, Tyler Roys, Meteorologist.
    December 01, 2012, 9:56:58 AM EST

Light snow will spread over the area late Friday afternoon and will continue through Saturday as a weak disturbance moves through. Precipitation in places south of the Capital District will transition to freezing drizzle Friday night.

Light snow in the region late in the day will generally make the roads wet. However, there can be slippery spots.

Friday night, the light snow will transition to areas of freezing drizzle from south to north into Saturday, with temperatures hovering in the lower and middle 30s. Any untreated surfaces could become icy.

Any icy spots will quickly diminish on Sunday as warmer air moves into the region. Temperatures will rise to the lower 50s for Sunday.

The warm air will linger into next week where temperatures will rise into upper 50s for early next week before a cold front brings temperatures back to near 40 for midweek.
