Harrisburg: Storms, Humidity to Return After Weekend

By by Alex Sosnowski, senior meteorologist.
    June 30, 2014, 12:33:30 AM EDT

A push of dry air from the northeast will continue to keep storms away from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, this weekend.

Oppressive humidity will remain absent on Sunday underneath a partly sunny sky.

High temperatures will be in the middle 80s.

The weather will be great for most outdoor activities this weekend. The nights will be on the cool side, especially over the countryside.

Spotty storms can pop up during the afternoon and evening hours southwest of Harrisburg, toward the Virginia and West Virginia mountains.

Beyond the weekend, warmth and especially humidity levels will build Monday through Wednesday due to a flow of tropical air.

In addition to making the weather more of a challenge for those doing manual labor and with respiratory problems, there will be a daily risk of thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday.
