Harrisburg: Low Humidity to Keep Rain Away Through Saturday

By By Alex Sosnowski, senior meteorologist.
    July 18, 2014, 10:05:12 AM EDT

Drier air will settle into Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and at the shore into the first part of the weekend.

While record chill will stay in the Midwest, the weather pattern through Saturday will offer low humidity, partial sunshine and cooler-than-average temperatures for July.

The weather will be ideal for most outdoor activities ranging from jogging and baseball to construction and yard work.

Temperatures at night will dip into the 50s over the countryside but will stop in the lower 60s in urban areas and at the beach.

Rain will stay away on Saturday.

The risk of thunderstorm activity will increase beginning Sunday as temperature and humidity levels gradually increase. However, much of the time on Sunday will be free of rain.

It storms manage to stay away through much of next week, there will be room for temperatures to reach hot levels as the ground dries out and more of the sun's energy is tapped.

For people heading to the beach this weekend, AccuWeather meteorologists will be monitoring an area of disturbed weather and tropical moisture along the Atlantic Coast. There is a chance that this moisture could spread a period of clouds and rain to the beaches from the mid-Atlantic to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
