    Fresh Snow Whitening Paris, London

The weekend is coming to a close with snow turning Paris and London into winter wonderlands and creating nightmares for travelers.

After a fresh couple of inches of snow whitened Paris Friday night, snow returned to the city Saturday evening. Snow began falling London this morning.

A total of 4 inches of snow, which included snow from recent storms, was covering the ground in Paris as of 1 p.m. CET (7 a.m. EST).

In London, snow lowered visibility to under a mile for a little over an hour earlier this morning.

Reuters reports today's snow disrupted flights at London's Heathrow Airport, Europe's busiest airport, for the third consecutive day. Twenty percent of flights have been cancelled.

While winding down in Paris, the snow will persist through the remainder of today in London.

"Snowfall will be heaviest just inland from the east coast of England where there could be local amounts up to 3 or 4 inches (7.5-10cm) with an inch or two (2.5-5.0) closer to London and points west of the city," stated AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Eric Leister.

Following this latest storm, it will remain rather chilly with a continued threat for snow showers across northern France, including Paris, on Monday and Tuesday.

Across England, dry and chilly weather is expected on Monday with plenty of clouds. Another weak wave of low pressure could result in some rain or snow showers across southern and eastern England on Tuesday as below normal temperatures persist.
