Before the Saturday and Sunday football games are played this weekend, Thursday and Friday will have some pivotal football matchups.

The Philadelphia Eagles will fight to stay tied for first place this Thursday in breezy and chilly conditions. The Eagles will take on the Houston Texans under partly cloudy skies, a northwest wind at 8-16 mph and a temperature of 37 degrees for the 8:20 p.m. start.

Arizona and much of the Southwest have had chilly below-normal temperatures the past few days, but this trend will end in time for Thursday's rivalry game in Tucson as Arizona takes on Arizona State.

Skies will be partly cloudy, with 74 degrees and a light wind expected at the 6 p.m. MST game.

Players and spectators of Friday's heated Mid-American Conference championship game between East Division Miami (Ohio) and West Division Northern Illinois in Detroit, will find themselves in bitterly cold conditions.

The 6 p.m. CST game will be partly cloudy and 33 degrees at kickoff with a light wind.

Later in the evening, Fresno State will host Illinois. The 7:15 PST game will be mostly cloudy with a shower possible. Game time temperature will be around 60 degrees.
