Philly: Milder Weather to Follow Cold Start Thursday

By by Alex Sosnowski, senior meteorologist.
    March 27, 2014, 1:00:19 AM EDT

In the wake of the spotty snow from Tuesday night, a strengthening blizzard off the New England coast will keep the Philadelphia area cold through Thursday morning.

Temperatures will drop well down into the 20s F Wednesday night. The record low of 21 F set in 1894 will be challenged.

After another cold start Thursday, a warming trend is in store Thursday afternoon into Friday.

By Friday afternoon, temperatures will climb to near 60 F, above the average high for the season in the upper 50s.

Showers will accompany the warmer weather Friday into Saturday.
