Breezy, cooler weather to descend upon New York City for St. Patrick's Day parade

Following a mild and rainy end to the week, brisk spring weather is expected to overspread the city in time for St. Patrick's Day celebrations on Saturday, March 16.

Last-minute travelers may contend with a bumpy flight to area airports on Saturday as winds pick up out of the northwest.

Otherwise, Saturday will turn out dry, cooler and increasingly sunny for St. Patrick's day festivities throughout the city.

While the temperature will rise to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit during the early afternoon, parade spectators should dress for the mid-40s F with the parade set to start at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

It will feel even colder with gusty winds, especially in areas of shade. Jackets, hats, gloves and sunglasses will all be appreciated for anyone hoping to watch the parade march down 5th Avenue.

Travel on Sunday will go on unaffected by the weather, with calmer, cool and sunny weather in the forecast.
