Philadelphia: Cooler, Still Damp Later This Week

    By By Mike Doll, meteorologist
    May 21, 2014, 12:29:19 AM EDT

The return of wet weather midweek to Philadelphia will persist into the latter part of the week, and it will be accompanied by cooler conditions after a brief spike in humidity.

Dangerous lightning will accompany the rain on occasion, and unfortunately, this means the potential for more weather-related disruptions to outdoor activities.

Temperatures will be as high as the upper 70s by Thursday, then cool into the lower 70s by Friday.

The risk for showers and thunderstorms could linger into Saturday as the Memorial Day weekend begins.

Sunshine and drier weather will return for the latter half of the long weekend, which will translate to higher temperatures.

Highs will be in the upper 70s on Sunday and close to 80 degrees on Memorial Day.
