After a few days of 80-plus-degree F temperatures, cool air has invaded Washington, D.C., from the east on Thursday.

Temperatures may struggle to reach 60 F with areas of low clouds and drizzle.

As a result, it may not be the most pleasant for hanging out on the beach and people who mind cool weather will be reaching for jackets and wearing long sleeves for comfort.

Temperatures will recover to close to seasonable levels this coming weekend. Temperatures at the end of May typically range from a low near 60 to a high near 80.
