Here's the map for the snowstorm in the Plains this weekend. This is the first of a series of storms that will move along the slowly pressing cold air. The storm this weekend will be the strongest of the storms through next week.
The bulk of the cold air will dump into the West and Plains the next seven days and over time will slosh east. Waves of low pressure running along the front will cause areas of heavy rain and perhaps even some snow. Look for narrow swaths of snow on the back end of rain areas on every press of the cold air.
