Science hero, Stephen Hawking, dead at 76

British physicist, Stephen Hawking, who dedicated his life to explaining some of the most complex questions about life and the universe, died at home in the UK on Wednesday, March 14. In an amazing coincidence, March 14 is celebrated annually as “Pi Day” by math fans: The date resembles the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter — the number that begins 3.14, better known Pi. March 14 is also the birth date of one of the world's other best known physicists, Albert Einstein.
