Passion and democracy took to the streets around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Scores from many races, religions and corners of life took part in the 'Philly Is Charlottesville' rally on North Broad. From a rally to a march the effort organized by the interfaith group POWER says the goal is to unmask racism around us after violent and deadly clashes with white nationalist groups in Charlottesville.

Hildegard Kent is from Germany and says President Trump blaming both white nationalists and counter protesters for the clashes in Charlottesville makes her think of a different time.

"To me it seems like the same thing happened in Germany. People thought oh they're going to go away and before they turned around it was too late."

The peaceful protesters are standing up for equality, LBGTQ issues and matters that Pastor Mark Tyler says point to institutional racism in the community.

"If this doesn't translate into a new school funding formula that's equal where children in Philadelphia get as much as children in the main line then it doesn't mean a thing."

SKYFOX captured the pavement pounding from the air as the congregation finished the journey at Arch Street United Methodist Church.

Their mission is far from over.
