The Oroville Union High School District is sending out letters to parents this week informing them that both Oroville and Las Plumas High Schools will not be merging.
This is effort has been on the table for years and is in response to a continuous decline in enrollment, which has been the trend.
"Since 2010 we've lost about 800 students," said Dr. Corey Willenberg, Oroville Union School District Superintendent.
The district held several public meetings in April to get feedback from parents.
We are working to find out when this decision was made and why they decided against the merger.More
