Hotter temperatures are on the way for your Wednesday forecast, and the heat continues to build through Saturday. Valley areas are starting out in the high 50's to mid 60's this morning, and mountain areas have dipped into the 50's overnight. High temperatures are projected to climb into the 91 to 103 degree range for the valley today, and into the high 80's to mid 90's for most mountain areas. The Delta Breeze will help to keep temperatures in check for the mid valley, but Northern zones of the valley will not share that impact. North winds will result in hotter temperatures for the North valley this afternoon.
Hotter temperatures, and lower humidity will drive elevated fire danger today. Fire danger is in the moderate range this afternoon, and will continue to climb through the end of the week. High 90's to low triple digits are ahead for the end of the work week and start of the weekend in the valley. A minor drop in high temperatures is expected on Sunday, and a modest cooling trend will be in store for the start of next week. The potential for mountain thunderstorms will continue in your extended forecast, but active weather looks much more likely for areas off to our East.More
