...A Wintry Mix Of Rain And Snow Possible Tonight Into Saturday

Rain will overspread eastern Kentucky this evening and overnight
ahead of an approaching low pressure system. The low pressure
system will pass to our south, with cold air moving in from our
north. This will allow temperatures to fall near or just below
freezing, and cause rain to transition to a wintry mix of rain
and snow, with some possible light freezing rain and sleet during
the changeover. Up to 1 inch of snow will be possible, with
highest amounts mainly across the east-central portion of the
state. If freezing rain does occur, impacts will be limited, and
should mainly be confined to the elevated surfaces. The snow will
be wet and slushy in nature, and may cause some hazardous travel
conditions during the early morning hours, so take extra caution
if traveling. Snow and rain will taper off by mid to late morning
