High Surf Advisory in effect until Saturday, 4:00 AM PST. Source: U.S. National Weather Service
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST SATURDAY...
* Surf...6-9 FT with sets to 10 FT in southern San Diego County.
* Timing...Peaking today and gradually diminishing tonight.
* High Tides at La Jolla: 6.4 feet at 704 AM PST Saturday
6.8 feet at 749 AM PST Sunday
* Impacts...Strong rip currents, minor coastal flooding, and risk
of drowning with dangerous swimming conditions. High tides could
create minor coastal flooding and beach erosion.
A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions. Obey posted warning signs and
flags and talk to a lifeguard before swimming. Use caution when
in or near the water and always swim near a lifeguard. Large
breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and
rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.
