...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 PM
PST THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a High Wind
Warning...which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 10 PM
PST this evening. The Wind Advisory is no longer in effect.
* Winds...West 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Locally wind
gusts could approach 70 mph around Vantage...George...Beverly
* Timing...Winds will begin to increase around noon, but will be
the strongest from 2 pm to 7 pm. Winds should decrease late
* Impacts...The potential exists for downed trees and power
lines across the region causing power outages. Drivers will
also experience difficulty driving, especially high profile
* Locations...Moses Lake, Ephrata, Soap Lake, Othello, Quincy,
George, Vantage, Beverly, Mattawa, Desert Aire, Wenatchee,
Chelan, Entiat, Cashmere, Waterville, Mansfield and Palisades.
Take action to secure loose or lightweight outdoor objects. High
winds can topple trees, damage weakened roofs, and down
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
