...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING
THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...

* Waves and Surf...5 to 8 ft in Orange County. 6 to 10 ft in San
Diego County. Local sets to 12 ft or higher possible south of
Del Mar late Monday through Tuesday morning.

* Timing...Surf increasing Monday morning, peaking late Monday
into early Tuesday. Surf will begin to lower Tuesday evening.

* Impacts...Increased risk of drowning due to elevated surf and
strong rip currents. Sneaker waves and other hazards can
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong
rip currents...elevated surf heights...minor tidal overflow...or
lightning are possible at local beaches. Obey posted warning
signs and flags and talk to a lifeguard before swimming. Use
caution when in or near the water and always swim near a
lifeguard.
