...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR NORTH AND EAST FACING
SHORES UNTIL 6 PM HST TUESDAY...
* SURF...Along east facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui,
and the Big Island, 6 to 10 feet, highest east. Along north
facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and Maui, rising to 12 to
16 feet through the day.
* TIMING...through Tuesday for east facing shores. For north
facing shores, surf will rise through the day today as a west-
northwest swell builds down the island chain. Surf will hold at
advisory levels tonight into Tuesday for north facing shores,
then trend down into midweek.
* IMPACTS...Moderate...Expect strong breaking waves, shore
break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming
difficult and dangerous.
