Trey Songz pleads guilty to disturbing the peace, sentenced to probation

Trey Songz pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to probation Friday after being accused of assaulting an officer during his concert in Detroit.

Termaine Neverson, aka Trey Songz, accepted a plea bargain and pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace. His other charges of aggravated assault and obstructing a police officer were dropped as a part of the plea deal.

Neverson was sentenced to 18 months of probation, and must complete anger management classes, submit to substance abuse screening, and pay restitution.

He was accused of assaulting a Detroit police officer during a concert on Dec. 28, 2016 at Joe Louis Arena.

It's alleged that Neverson was performing when he said he was told he had to end his show at a certain time or his microphone would be cut. According to video recorded by concert-goers, Neverson then threatened to "go crazy" if that happened.

He's accused of throwing an object, hitting someone in the head during the show and when an officer went to arrest him, Neverson allegedly hit the officer after refusing to leave the stage.

A Detroit police sergeant was hit by an object thrown by the artist and suffered a concussion.
