Minneapolis police are investigating a vulnerable adult abuse situation involving a double-amputee living in a home filled with trash and animal feces.
On Sept. 7, police responded to a home on the 4400 block of Aldrich Avenue North on a report of possible vulnerable adult abuse. According to a search warrant, the report stated that the home is very unclean and has several animals living in poor conditions, including a large pig, three dogs and several ferrets.
The report also pointed out "an overwhelming amount of animal feces and urine in the home on the floors," and piles of garbage everywhere. The adult's wound cleaning materials were covered in flies and feces.
According to the person who reported the conditions, there were so many flies in the home "they covered the kitchen counter," the floors and the adult's wounds.
A health care provider came to the house and confirmed that the living situation was "so deplorable they could not provide services until the home is cleaned."
