The incident happened in the area of Crismon and Southern, near a QuikTrip in the area. Police say a man was acting erratic in the area and walked past Skyline High School towards the QuikTrip gas station. Police say officers told the man to drop the weapon and saw the suspect raise a handgun toward the officers. Mesa Police say three officers were on-scene at the time of the shooting, and the suspect was then struck by gunfire from Mesa Police. They say a witness in the area saw the events as they unfolded.
