...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST FRIDAY...
* Surf...4 to 7 feet with sets to 9 feet in Orange County. 5 to 8
with sets to 10 feet in San Diego County. Highest sets south of
* Timing...Surf gradually lowering tonight and Wednesday but
increasing again Thursday before lowering again Friday.
* Impacts...Increased risk of drowning due to elevated surf and
strong rip currents. Sneaker waves and other hazards can
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Minor
coastal flooding during early morning high tides and minor
beach erosion are possible.
A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
