...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued
a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of eastern North Carolina,
including the following areas, Beaufort, Mainland Dare,
Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Outer Banks Hyde,
Tyrrell, and Washington.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon

* Heavy rain is expected to develop over the area Friday afternoon
and continue into Saturday. Storm total rainfall is expected to
range from 2 to 4 inches, with localized higher amounts.

* This rainfall could produce flash flooding, particularly in poor
drainage areas near creeks, streams and ditches. Street flooding
is likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
