event crazy april 9

Events are the lifeblood of a society. They are occasions that gather people together united in a common theme, cause or celebration. Events bring people together to pay tribute to their heroes, to raise awareness of a cause or to witness history in the making. Events can be as simple as a child's kindergarten graduation or as dramatic as the Super Bowl. It doesn't matter what your preference is or even if it is constantly evolving. What does matter is that you are "experiencing" something that will give you great satisfaction and a lifetime of memories.

Frisco Park Amory, MS 38821
Since 1979. Folks from near and far, including many railroad enthusiasts, make the Amory Railroad Festival a "must," year in and year out. Amory owes its very existence to the railroad - the town was established by the old KCM and B (Kansas City, Memphis and Birmingham) Railroad at the mid-point between Memphis and Birmingham and named the town for railroad magnate Harcourt Amory. The KCMandB eventually became the Frisco (St. Louis and San Francisco), which in turn was purchased by the Burlington Northern in the 1970s. The BN then merged with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in 1995, resulting in the current "Burlington Northern Santa Fe" Bring the whole family and plan to spend at least one full day in Amory. Ya'll come! Yuh heah?

Apr 12, 2018 - Apr 28, 2018
St. Anthony Main Theatre Minneapolis, MN 55414
The largest film event in the region, and one of the largest and longest running film festivals in the country, the MSP International Film Festival annually presents 200+ feature length and short narrative and documentary films from 60+ countries. The Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF) has reached a milestone year — this spring, the festival will celebrate its 35th Anniversary. After 35 years of presenting Minnesota audiences with the best in international, independent cinema, the event is stronger than ever, and the noteworthy occasion will be marked with special guests and events when MSPIFF returns April 7-April 23. This year, the festival — one of the longest-running in the nation — will expand beyond its home base at St. Anthony Main Theatre in Minneapolis to new venues, most notably taking over the Uptown Theater the week of April 8-14. Other additions include a series of experimental shorts, curated in partnership with Cellular Cinema, as well as an extended youth cinema program presented in partnership with Twin Cities Youth Media Network and Intermedia Arts. For 35 years, the staff of The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul has scoured international film festivals — from Sundance and Toronto to Berlin, Palm Springs, Busan, Guadalajara and San Sebastian — to bring a unique slate of international films to the Twin Cities that might otherwise never be screened in this market. Last year’s record-breaking 41,274 attendees explored films from 72 countries.
