Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.
2 to 5 millimetres of freezing precipitation is expected over Western Quebec through this evening. However, freezing rain that will reach Central Quebec later today will give more generous amounts of 5 to 10 millimetres.
Freezing rain will be especially stubborn over Québec, where 10 to 20 millimetres is expected through Wednesday morning.
The warm front responsible for these freezing precipitations will move towards Eastern Quebec on Wednesday. The North Shore, the Lower St. Lawrence and the Gaspé Peninsula will be affected.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
