SKEW-T Diagram (AMPS)

Can I see a vertical cross-section of the atmosphere or additional stability indices?

You can do both with our Advanced Map Plotting System (AMPS) SKEW-T Diagram. It plots an upper-air sounding and calculates the Lifting Condensation Level, Convective Condensation Level, Level of Free Convection, Freezing Level, Wet Bulb Zero Height, Equilibrium Level, K-Index, Lifted Index, Showalter Index, Sweat Index, Cross Totals Index, Vertical Totals Index, Total Totals Index, Positive Area, Precipitable Water, Tropopause Height, Convective Temperature, Hail Size, and the Richardson Shear Index. This vertical picture of the atmosphere is useful for determining the stability of the atmosphere, type of precipitation, and maximum temperature.
