The latest cold snap now set to hold right through the week, wintry showers
will break out in areas of the British Archipelago on Wednesday.
Given a wind flow from the north and the northeast, cloud will tend to be
heaviest over the east and the southeast of England along with northern
Scotland. Here, most of the wintry showers will take place. Elsewhere, breaks
in cloud will afford sunny spells with some of the brightest skies being those
of Northern Ireland. Few showers, if any, will happen here.
High temperatures on Tuesday will be 0C to 4C will predominate over the region
on Wednesday. Higher readings of 4C to 6C will occur most widely on the
Cornwall Peninsula, but will also happen elsewhere along the immediate coast.
North to northeast winds will blow at moderate to fresh speeds over much of
England and Wales with some strong speeds along the coast. Speeds will lower to
light to gentle over most of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
