Rain has long since ended from Ida
in the South, and the worst of the rain is over in much of the
mid-Atlantic. However, runoff from Ida's remnants will continue cause minor
to moderate river flooding for the middle and southern Atlantic Seaboard this weekend.
While river levels are expected to fall this weekend away from tidal basins, some flooding will continue along multiple rivers from Georgia to
Maryland.
Some
low-lying areas along the largest rivers could have flooding into next week.

The Dan River at Paces, Va. is cresting close to major flooding stage at the start of the weekend. Meanwhile, the
Roanoke River at Randolph, Va. is cresting at moderate flood
levels. Minor flooding is occurring along the Pee Dee River in Cheraw, S.C.
Not enough rain is expected to fall from much of New Jersey to
New England
to result in river flooding problems.

Some rain from Ida's remnants will
spread into New England this weekend. However, it should not be exceptional. Much of the weekend will be rain-free from the central Appalachians to
the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
While some moisture will be ripped northward away from Ida's remnants this weekend, the center of the storm will head slowly to the east, away from
the Atlantic Seaboard.
If you live near a river from Georgia to interior Maryland and have not yet had flooding from Ida, you will not get flooded from this event.
If you have taken on water over the past couple of days around your home, the good news is waters should be on their way down soon.
In the meantime, do not drive through flooding roadways, even if barricades are not in place.
