The weather will improve across
much of the Southeast over the next couple of days as the storm that affected the region over the weekend moves away. People across Florida, however,
may be dealing with wet weather that could impact travel through the middle of the week.
The storm that spread
heavy rain from Texas into the Southeast over the
weekend will head up the Eastern Seaboard today into Tuesday. As it does so, leftover rain across Tennessee, Georgia and the
Carolinas will gradually taper off south-to-north.
Sunshine will even return to places like
Atlanta,
Charlotte and
Raleigh by Tuesday or Wednesday. Temperatures will also rebound
in these areas.
While conditions improve across the interior Southeast over the next few days, Florida could stay stormy.
The
cold front associated with this past weekend's storm will stall
across Florida over the next couple of days, sparking isolated showers and thunderstorms.
By Wednesday, tropical moisture could surge northward from the Caribbean and interact with this front to produce more widespread, potentially heavy
showers and thunderstorms across the Florida Peninsula.
With Wednesday being one of the biggest travel days of the year as millions visit family and friends for Thanksgiving, the wet weather could create
delays both on the ground and in the air.
People who will be heading to Florida for Thanksgiving should keep checking back with AccuWeather.com over the next couple of days for the latest on
this potential.
