Heavy Rains Through Monday
7/26/2008 4:10 PM
Tropical Rainstorm Dolly continues to move through the region, causing downpours over the Southwest.

The AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center reports that the last traces of the storm are moving across northern Mexico.

It will be dry in southeastern Texas through Sunday, which will aid storm cleanup efforts. However, temperatures will soar well into the 90s due to high pressure.

The remains of the system are expected to head towards the Rockies through the day Monday. Rain produced by these storms have the possibility of causing flooding in some areas. The Severe Weather Center lists the flood-related watches and warnings in effect across the region.

Dolly sparked a number of unconfirmed tornadoes and swamped South Texas with heavy rain Thursday. President Bush declared 15 counties in South Texas a disaster area. More than 150 thousand people were without power Thursday night. Damage estimates from Dolly have been estimated to be at least $750 million.
