The best weather so far this spring will spread today from Kentucky to New Brunswick as high pressure continues to build over the East.

The massive high pressure dome and a flow of warm air moving out of the Southeast will continue through at least Friday. Temperatures today will climb to as much as 10 to 15 degrees above normal for mid-April.

The influx of warmth east of the Mississippi has finally pushed out the cold air that was lingering in the East. The South Regional News story reports that temperatures early Wednesday morning dipped into the 30s as far south as the Florida panhandle.

A storm system over the Atlantic has produced strong surf and kept temperatures in check along the coast. By late today, the ocean storm could brush coastal areas of New England with cold wind and rain that could continue into Friday.
