AccuWeather.com, the world's leading commercial weather service, is now providing the free weather content for the "Forecastfox" extension created by Ensolis, LLC. Forecastfox is a free downloadable extension that brings worldwide weather from AccuWeather.com to a browser toolbar, so that a choice of weather information is free and readily available to the user. It is available to users of Mozilla's Firefox, the Mozilla Suite and Netscape web browsers.
When the user enters a zip code or U.S. or international city, Forecastfox creates a series of attractive, yet unobtrusive weather icons that may be placed in your choice of locations: the lower right toolbar, the navigation bar, personal toolbar, status bar or main menu bar. By setting their choice of locations and then scrolling over these icons, the user sees a quick pop-up view of current conditions, up to a week's worth of forecasts, precipitation data and wind information. For U.S. locations, two special new icons point to a current radar map and to an alert if any severe weather warnings are in effect. All Forecastfox weather information is provided by a data feed from AccuWeather.com. One click on any icon takes the viewer to www.accuweather.com, with additional in-depth weather data that includes: To access Forecastfox with AccuWeather.com's weather data, Firefox users simply choose this option from the Extensions list, where it's one of the most popular extensions available. Users of other browsers can switch to Firefox by visiting www.GetFirefox.com to download the browser, and may then choose Forecastfox from the list of extensions. "We're pleased to partner with Ensolis to offer fast, easy access to the world's best weather data," says Jim Candor, Senior Vice President of New Media at AccuWeather.com. "Forecastfox powered by AccuWeather.com gives Firefox, Mozilla, and Netscape browser users the ability to quickly personalize, view and understand all of the weather information they want for a million locations around the world." |

What is Forecastfox?
Forecastfox is an extension that brings international weather from AccuWeather.com to your Firefox web browser. You can use your US zip code or you can easily find your town or city by using the built in search tool.
It is unobtrusive and lightweight, yet can be customized to display nearly as much data as the leading desktop weather programs! If you can't find what you are looking for, click the weather icons displayed to open the AccuWeather.com forecast for your location. A slider pops up from the bottom right corner of your screen when the current conditions are updated. You can even set what appears in it or disable it!
Forecastfox lets you customize everything, from the number of days to be forecasted, to the content of the tooltips. You can decide whether to see the labels, and you can decide what toolbar to place Forecastfox in. The options window is intuitive and makes it fast and easy to change any of the settings you'd like.
The profile system lets you easily change between multiple locations. Each profile saves all of its own settings, including the tooltips and labels, the number of days forecasted and the location of the forecast. There is even a setting that allows you to automatically rotate between the profiles at a given time interval. Download it!
Head over to the installation page to get the latest version.
