Welcome, web traveller! My name is John Marsh, though in most circles I'm known as "Johnny." I work in the radio broadcasting department of AccuWeather. In addition to my duties here, I also work as a local on-air personality for a top 40 radio station and an oldies station. I went to Penn State University where I studied journalism. I've been in broadcasting for almost 5 years now.

In my free time, I love to write and record music. I've been a musician for 15 years, and it's my true passion in life. I've been in dozens of music groups over the years -- everything from bands to choirs. I also love film, video games and spending time with my nephews. Also, it bears mentioning I can heal cavities and have been hit by three cars in my life, yet never suffered any damage from them. Also, I'm pretty cool.

What made you choose weather/meteorology/broadcasting as a career?

I've always been interested in weather and spent several hours watching the Weather Channel as a kid. Now that I'm an adult, I get my weather (and paychecks!) from AccuWeather.

Weirdest job you've ever held?

I was a commissioner at a Boy Scout camp. I had the job for three weeks one summer. Basically, I drove around in a golf cart and delivered supplies to campsites. Best. Summer. Ever.

Favorite sports team? Music? Movie?

Sports: New Jersey Devils.

Music: The Smashing Pumpkins.

Movie: "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou"

Any weird talents?

I can generally pronounce most words backwards.

Right. I know, pretty boring.

Last movie you watched/book you read?

Last movie - "Elf" (with my mom on Christmas)

Thanksgiving or Bastille Day

No idea on either one.

I'm going to get in trouble for this, but I can't stand "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones

If you could go back or forward in time, where would you go?

Forward, at least up to the point where robots take over the planet so I could lead the resistance.

"White Water Summer" It's a classic.

Playing music (guitar, bass, banjo, singing) and video games (mainly Xbox360 these days), writing and making YouTube vids

Favorite place to vacation?

I'd assume some tropical island somewhere, but I've never been to one.
